How many types of force can you describe? It is important to know the technical name of forces so that you are fluent when communicating to other Scientists about them.

1	Applied force is the general term for when one object pushes or pulls on another object
2	Weight is the force that acts downwards from the centre of gravity of masses.
3	The normal reaction force occurs as an equal and opposite reaction force to an applied force on a stable object
4	Air resistance is a resistive force which occurs in the opposite direction to motion when objects are moving through the air at any speed
5	Friction is a force that resists motion
