In a series circuit with only bulbs connected, when you double the number of bulbs in the circuit but keep the number of cells the same, the current will halve

When you double the number of bulbs in a series circuit, you double the resistance, and so the current halves.

We are assuming the bulbs and batteries used in the circuits are all identical.
