All Textbook Topics - Electricity - Current in series and parallel circuits - When you halve the number of cells in a battery but keep the rest of the circuit the same, the current going in and out of the battery will halve

When you halve the number of cells in a battery but keep the rest of the circuit the same, the current going in and out of the battery will halve

Decreasing the number of cells but keeping the rest of the circuit the same will have the effect of decreasing the current out/in of the battery.

If we also assume that each of the cells is identical, then if you halve the number of cells, then you will halve the current out/in of the battery.

Here is another example of this:

Previous
When you double the number of cells in a battery but keep the rest of the circuit the same, the current going in and out of the battery will double
Next
In a parallel circuit, the current going out and into the battery is equal to the sum of the current in each of the branches
