I can perform simple calculations to work out a distance from a constant speed and a time

To calculate a distance from a speed and a time, you must use a rearrangement of the s=d/t equation.

You must complete the following steps:

  1. You will have been given a speed and a time. Write these down from the question onto your paper and make sure they are clearly identified
  2. Write out the s=d/t equation down in either the word or symbol form
  3. Rearrange the equation into the correct form (d=sxt)
  4. Substitute in the speed and the time and write these down in full
  5. Complete the calculation and write down your answer

Here is an example question and model answer:

A cyclist is travelling at 6m/s. How far do they move in 4s?
