A solid object with balanced forces is either stationary or is moving at a constant velocity

The toy car in this diagram has balanced forces acting on it therefore there are two possible ways it could be moving:

Moving at a constant velocity or not moving at all (stationary).

The ball in the above diagram is in the same scenario. Most people are happy with the idea that an object with balanced forces can be stationary, but many people don't know that an object with balanced forces acting on it can also be moving at a constant velocity.

Previous
If an object has two forces acting on it in opposite directions and with equal magnitudes, then the forces on that object are balanced
Next
If an object has two forces acting on it in opposite directions and with different magnitudes, then the forces on that object are unbalanced
