You need to line the incident ray up with the ray on paper so that the drawn line is exactly in the middle of the light ray.

The ray you have drawn on paper will be much thinner than the light ray from the ray box. To make the experiment more accurate, you need to line the ray box up so that the drawn ray is exactly in the middle of the light ray, as shown here:

Here is a close up of this:

If the drawn ray is not exactly in the middle of the real ray, your results will be less accurate.
