A smaller pin-hole will produce a sharper but dimmer image

This diagram shows how a narrow pin-hole only lets one light ray from the top and one light ray from the bottom reach the screen. This keeps the image sharp, but it is more dim.

Below you can see what happens when the pin-hole is larger, the image is brighter but less sharp:
