I can perform simple calculations to work out a time from a distance and a constant speed

To calculate a time from a speed and a distance, you must use a rearrangement of the s=d/t equation.

You must complete the following steps:

  1. You will have been given a speed and a distance. Write these down from the question onto your paper and make sure they are clearly identified
  2. Write out the s=d/t equation down in either the word or symbol form
  3. Rearrange the equation into the correct form (t=d/s)
  4. Substitute in the distance and the speed and write these down in full
  5. Complete the calculation and write down your answer

Here is an example question and model answer:

A car is driving along at 40m/s. How long does it take to travel 100m?
